What actually removes fluoride

This is the single most mis-sold filtration problem. No ordinary carbon filter removes fluoride — not Brita, not PUR, not a whole-house carbon tank, regardless of what the marketing implies. The fluoride ion is small and passes straight through. Only reverse osmosis, activated alumina or bone char meaningfully reduce it. If a product claims fluoride reduction, ask for the lab report.
